Wow! It's here! We've said our goodbyes and today is the last day we'll spend in our house and in Arizona. It was VERY hard to say goodbye to all of our friends and our church. They've been our family out here. So, farewell Arizona! We are so ready to go HOME!!!
I cannot believe it! We are moving back to Washington! Alex got a job offer from Microsoft and he starts mid August. So, right now we are getting the house ready to sell and waiting to be relocated (thank God for relocation). We are going to miss the friends we've made here and the church we've called home for the entire four years we've lived here. We are very sad about that. However, this is an answer to a prayer I've had since about six months after we moved here. When I FINALLY let go about 6 months ago God opened a door into Alex's heart and he was the one who initiated the idea of moving this time. So, lesson learned. Give it up, pray, and as a friend Jaime says, "be where your feet are" and God will reveal the plans. Gotta write that down.. God is in charge. Why do I always think I am?
So... Washingtonians we will see you in about three weeks! Please pray for a safe move, with an easy transition. As soon as our house is listed I will post it! Pray that we sell our house as quickly as we can and find the house that God has for us.
We ended our weekend with some bowling! It was raining and humid but we didn't want to sit in front of a t.v.
We also had a basketball game for Tim. We went to see, "Journey to the Center of the Earth" in 3-D. It was so much fun! The air conditioning was a plus too!
Well... what've we been up to? 1. Went to San Diego for a wedding. 2. Been cleaning and decluttering and repairing like crazy. Getting new carpet in two weeks. Did you see the amazing painting? Our friend Mia painted it. I asked her to paint a japanese maple because it reminds me of Washington. She used salt as a texture for the leaves and the grass. She decoupaged the tree trunk. Mis is a spectacular artist. I am so honored to have her art hanging in my house! 3. Tim is playing basketball for the first time. He loves it! 4. Spent 4th of July with some friends in our neighborhood. 5. Spending a lot of time by the pool or inside where there is air conditioning. When will I ever adjust to the extreme summer temperatures? I hope never because that will mean I'm an Arizonan. I'm not and will never be one of those.
Love to anyone who still checks this to see if I've actually written something on here.
So, last Tuesday, the day after Memorial Day, Tim, Emmy and I left for Kid's Camp with our church. I went to do music. Tim went for his first year, since he's going into 3rd. Emmy came with me as a "junior camper" as she's not old enough to actually go yet. However, since Alex works and I was doing the music she got to come with me. It was fun! I enjoyed singing with the kids. During free time alot of the kids would come in and want to sing and do the hand motions so I felt like they enjoyed the songs and didn't think I was too much of an old person! I have no pictures because I kept leaving my camera in my room and was too busy to get it... oh well! Tim and Emmy each had a throw away camera so if I develop any that turn out I will scan them in. Just trying to keep up on the blogging this time around.
Here is where we were: http://www.prescottpines.org/
Warning: Before You read what is on the canvases behind us I want to tell you that we just finished a series on what others perceptions of Christians are. I just don't want anyone thinking that we go to a church that, or ourselves believe some of the things painted on the canvases for visual impact. Okay.. that said... here are some pictures of today at rehearsal before service. I have the dumb one of me (I'm not sure what I'm doing) first because it shows Tim and Alex too. Love to you!
Just a small clip from Alex, Tim (his first time playing the entire set with us) and myself at rehearsal today for our drum circle worship experience. I could barely look at Tim or I would start tearing up. He did a great job! Oh, Emmy is in here too. She decided to get up on stage and play the egg shaker. So, it's a family affair on this one! I know I already said this but it's film from the rehearsal. That's why I stop singing and start talking to our worship leader right at the end. OOPS!
So, It's been 8 months since I last posted. Why can't I stick with this? I don't know.
Here is a quick summary of 8 months. The pictures are not in order. Sorry, I am working on it. Ready? Go! September: Tim turned 8. He is with his good friend Kevin. The kids started their first year at a Charter school. October: I turned 34. This was a sad month for us because Alex's dad died. November: Went to Sedona, Arizona for Thanksgiving with Alex's mom and Jim. December: My parents were here for Christmas. January: I started my own personal training business. February: Emmy turned 6. March: Went to San Diego for Spring Break. Tim raced in the Pinewood Derby and placed 3rd so we went to the semi-finals. He was so excited. April: Do not remember anything to tell you about. May: Just finished the school year today. We are going to homeschool next year! We are excited!
